About

Who I am

A gardener who genuinely cares about the spaces she tends.

I'm Freya — a skilled and intuitive gardener with an RHS Level 2 qualification in horticulture and over three years of hands-on experience working in private estates and residential gardens across East Sussex.

My work spans the full seasonal calendar: pruning, vegetable growing, lawn and path care, general maintenance, planting and harvesting, as well as ponds, meadows, and orchards. I take pride in bringing spaces to a high standard while keeping a particular eye for the creative and aesthetic.

I'm reliable, observant, and comfortable working both independently and alongside others. My background includes working on multiple sites across different landscapes — from expansive woodland to ornamental gardens — and I bring that same attentiveness to every client I work with.

Outside of gardening, I hold a background in fashion styling and graphic art, which shapes the way I think about colour, form, and how a garden feels.

What I offer

✂️

Pruning & Shaping

Shrubs, hedges, fruit trees, ornamental borders and climbers — kept healthy and well-formed through the seasons.

🌿

Weeding & Planting

Thorough weeding, mulching, and seasonal planting. Sensitive to existing plant schemes and happy to work to your vision or my own.

🥦

Vegetable Gardens

Growing, tending, and harvesting kitchen gardens. Comfortable with crop rotation, successional sowing, and seasonal planning.

🌾

Lawns & Paths

Mowing (including ride-on), edging, and path maintenance to keep outdoor spaces neat and usable year-round.

🌊

Ponds & Meadows

Pond upkeep, wildflower meadow maintenance, and orchard care — for gardens with a wilder, more naturalistic character.

🎨

Design & Planting Plans

A keen eye for colour, form, and aesthetics — I can help develop planting ideas and suggest improvements as we work together.

How it works

Regular visits, done properly

Availability

Half-days or full days

I work best with regular, ongoing clients — half-day or full-day visits weekly or fortnightly. This lets me really get to know your garden and keep it at its best through every season.

Location

Nutley & surrounding villages

Based in Freshfield Lane, RH17 — I'm well placed for gardens across Nutley, Haywards Heath, Forest Row, Maresfield, Uckfield, Horsted Keynes, and the wider East Sussex countryside.

What to expect

Reliable & observant

I turn up consistently, work methodically, and notice the things that matter — a plant that's struggling, a border that needs attention.

Getting started

Just get in touch by phone or email. We'll arrange a time for me to come and see the garden, chat about what you're after, and go from there — no pressure.
